Default Pet Switching

pet switching since you can only have one pet at a time why not talk to a npc to take care of and hold onto your pet maybe have a cost or a storage type thing for your pet and then you can capture a new pet or afew but you can only have one so you might change them out but you might only have a set amount of space to keep other pets ex. i have a brown bear currently lv 20 i want a white tiger & black moa and i want to be able to try the new pets out but not lose my bear so i put it in storage and go for a new pet if i don't like the new pets i still keep my bear.

beats me but its a good idea this way you have afew pets to switch around if you get bored of using one pet. i capped a white tiger over the weekend for my event ranger was liking it too and black moa i wanted but its a quest pet and its the only one i think so getting it would be a must. so i'd have like 3 pets to choose from for training

I love this idea! I have a wolf myself, but I always thought I'd be hilarious to run around with one of those Moss Spiders from the pre-searing. I know they'er weak, but it'd still be funny, and I don't want to lose my wolf in the process.

Why not just make it to where:
1: tame an animal (lvl 5 or whatever)
2: leave the zone (or enter town...)
3: he becomes whatever level you currently are

I sort of get that idea, but what might be better is an "Animal Trainer" NPC. That way, you could train low level animals to your current level for a fee, and they could also incorperate that animal storage idea. Two birds with one stone.

This would be a great idea, alot of animals would be alive today with that idea... poor old yeller, she was a good and loyal dog, but alas, I had to put her down... I took her outside of Ascalon, and buried her. ;_;

few days later i got an UW Spider!

Because then you lose your ability to control the pet's evolution?

As to the pet storage idea, it's been around forever in one form or another, and it has always gotten tons of support... but we still haven't gotten it. My personal favorite variation was to have a pet pen in the Guild Hall to store your alternate pets in.

Many players who have the UW spider will be rather hesitant to switch to new pets. Heck, even those who've spent time levelling up their pets to level 20 will find it difficult to part ways.

A corral of some, in town, would be nice. Have an initial cost of 2k to have the service available. And maybe even charge 200g to switch pets, a fee for taking care of the pets.

Make it an option. That trainer idea a few posts up is just as good.

I know I hate leveling up my new pets just so I dont have to IWAY with a wolf...

But I guess I dont use pets very often...so whatever...Ill sign any change with pets that doesnt involve them having inventory or a skillbar.

I like the idea of the pets having a pen at the guild hall. (For looks alone). But a storage area is also a good idea. Either way, i would like to be able to have a collection of pets as well. It would be real hard to give up my lvl 20 wolf, even tho i waould really like to have the spider from the UW.

A lot of people don't have Guild Halls...

My suggestion is to put a pet tamer/storage NPC in major towns and have a fee to use him. Then, when Factions come out, give the Guild Leader the ability to place a pet trainer/storage NPC in the Guild Halls for a fee. Then, since that pet trainer was already paid for by the GL, he would be free. If your guild disbanded, you would receive a message which will let you transfer your pets to a normal pet trainer/storage for the normal fee.

EDIT: /signed (it needs to be implemented some how)

add the pen/storage in big cities like old ascalon, lions arch, droks ect..
and make it look like the fenced in yaks at yaks bend you could talk to a npc that is standing by them to switch your pets
